How Kidera makes money
Where I earn, where I do not, and what that means for what you read here
I am a paediatric occupational therapist and I sell things. Those two facts sit next to each other on this website, and you should be able to see exactly how.
What I sell myself
We make it and we sell it direct. A$89, free shipping in Australia. I earn from every one.

Where I use affiliate links
Most of the toys I point you at are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one I get a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That applies to:
Where I do not
These contain no product links at all. Nothing in them earns me anything:
No ads, no sponsor, no placement fee on any of them. Several, including the Early Years Activity Book and the age toy guides, used to be paid products and are now free.
Gifted products and brand partnerships
I am the "Our OT" brand ambassador for Backpack Buddy and I am paid a monthly fee for it. You will see that said wherever they come up.
When a brand sends me something free, I mark it as gifted every time.
Nobody pays for placement in my guides. There is no sponsored slot to buy, and being sent something does not get it in.
How products get chosen
I pick things I would use in a session or put in front of my own family. I look at whether a child can play with it more than one way, whether it survives being played with, and what it costs.
Plenty of the suggestions in my guides are things you already own, or a cheaper version of the thing. I would rather you bought less.
If I stop rating something, I take it out. If you think something in a guide should not be there, email me and tell me why.
My OT qualifications do not mean that every product I recommend is clinically proven.
"OT recommended" means a therapist who works with children every week thinks this is a decent thing to have. It is professional opinion, and sometimes it is preference. It is not a clinical trial, and no toy treats anything.
Where I am relying on evidence rather than experience, I will say so.
