A free 41-page print-and-go activity book, built to be laminated and used again rather than printed once and binned.

Every activity comes with two things most printables leave out: exactly what you will need, and what the activity is actually targeting.

Every activity tells you what you need and what it targets

That is the format on every page. A materials list on the left, instructions in the middle, and the skills being targeted on the right.

So the shape matching activity lists playdough or cut-out shapes, tells you to outline or fill the shapes with playdough or match Velcro shapes to the outlines, and states plainly that it targets fine motor skills, shape recognition and matching, and sensory play.

You are never left wondering why you are doing something.

Most activities have an easier and a harder version

The shape puzzle is a good example.

Option one, the child cuts out the shapes themselves and matches the halves. Option two, the adult does the cutting and the child just matches, then glues them down for pasting practice or uses Velcro so it can be redone.

Same page. One version needs scissor skills, the other does not. You pick based on the child in front of you rather than the age printed on the cover.

What you will want on hand

Nothing exotic. Thick card if you have it, 160 to 200gsm, or a plastic sleeve if you do not. Dry-erase markers. Crayons. Child-safe scissors. Velcro dots for the reusable versions, or a glue stick for the one-time ones. Small toys, pom-poms, counters or stickers for the sorting pages.

Laminating is the single thing that changes how much use you get out of it. A three year old will happily do the same page eleven times, and repetition is how the skill sticks.

How to use it without burning through it

Do not print all 41 pages at once. Print two or three that suit where your child is and leave the rest.

Pick by interest before you pick by skill. A child who wants to cut will cut for twenty minutes. A child who has been assigned cutting will cut for two.

Start with something you are confident your child can already do. Starting with success buys you the willingness to try the harder thing next.

Frequently asked questions

What age is the activity book for?+

Roughly 2 to 5 years. Most activities have an easier and a harder option, so it stretches further than a single age would suggest.

How many pages is it?+

41 pages.

What will I need?+

Thick card or plastic sleeves, dry-erase markers, crayons, child-safe scissors, and Velcro or a glue stick. Each activity lists its own materials.

Can teachers and therapists use it?+

The book is for personal use. If you would like to use it in a clinic or classroom, email me at brittany@kidera.com.au.
